DACHSER builds new logistics center in Zaragoza, Spain

DACHSER is investing 14 million euros in the expansion of its logistics capacities in north-eastern Spain. The new building in Zaragoza is scheduled to open at the beginning of 2026.

The new building covers an area of approx. 12,000 m², including warehouse and offices.

With the new logistics center, DACHSER is creating additional transport capacity for its regional customers and strengthening its position on the Iberian Peninsula and in Europe. "We are creating an infrastructure that promotes our future growth. With the new logistics center, we can handle more shipments and optimize our processes. We also have more storage capacity and more loading ramps for heavy trucks," says Moisés Beltrán, General Manager for the Aragon and La Rioja regions at DACHSER Spain European Logistics.

The new logistics facility will be built on the 75,000 m² site of the DACHSER branch currently in use. The new building will occupy a constructed area of approx. 12,000 m², including warehouse and offices. A total of 100 loading ramps for various types of trucks as well as parking spaces for swap bodies, trucks and cars will be available. Future expansions are also possible on the site.

The facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology for license plate inspection. A sorter for parcel shipments will also be installed to increase the center's productivity. In terms of sustainability, DACHSER has opted to install solar cells and aerothermal systems for the hot water supply. The new facility will also be equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting.

"With our investment in Zaragoza, we are reaffirming our commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability. This state-of-the-art logistics center will not only strengthen our operational capacity, but will also be a driver for growth for our local customers with export business due to its strategic location," says Celestino Silva, Managing Director European Logistics Iberia at DACHSER.

Important hub in the land transport network

From Zaragoza, DACHSER offers direct routes to France, Germany and Italy as well as additional connections to the Nordic countries via Germany. Designed to handle 800,000 consignments weighing 200,000 tons per year, capacity is to be increased by 50 percent over the next three years. Today, DACHSER already employs around 400 people in Zaragoza. The new logistics center is expected to increase this number by a further 100 over the next three years.
