DACHSER in Linz expands its warehouse capacities
Logistics service provider DACHSER completed the expansion of its warehouse in Hörsching near Linz at the end of November. The company invested around EUR 4.3 million in expanding its logistics capacities. The additional warehouse and logistics space amounts to almost 6,000 square meters and offers an additional 10,500 pallet spaces to the previous 20,000.
The Linz Logistics Center in Hörsching was opened in 2008 and has a transshipment hall of 8,000 square meters as well as a four-story office and administration building. The warehouse, which opened in 2017, was added to the existing transshipment hall and is now being expanded due to its central location within Europe and high customer demand in 2022.
"We have been noticing an increasing demand for warehouse space and logistics services in Linz and the surrounding area for several years. The Corona pandemic and its impact on global supply chains have additionally driven demand," says Michael Rauhofer, General Manager at DACHSER Logistics Center Linz." By expanding our capacities, we are taking an important step to further develop our region. By expanding our modern warehouse, we can serve the different needs of our customers individually."
At the Hörsching site, DACHSER provides its customers with tailored logistics solutions comprising warehousing and value-added services combined with a direct connection to the unique comprehensive European overland transport network and the air and sea freight services of DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics.
"As an important part of DACHSER's worldwide logistics network, the Linz logistics center is optimally connected to the global procurement and distribution markets," adds Thomas Klare, Head of Corporate Contract Logistics.
