DACHSER has been operating an overland organization in Finland since 2014. Now DACHSER Finland Oy is moving into a facility covering some 4,600 square meters in Kerava. Completion is scheduled for the second half of 2020. With the new facility, DACHSER Finland Oy will handle all incoming overland goods as well as distribution for the Helsinki metropolitan area. “Our business has grown significantly in the last five years. Now is the right time to revise our operating model and establish both our brand and our service more prominently on the domestic market,” says Tuomas Leimio, Managing Director, European Logistics Finland, DACHSER Finland Oy. As a result, the logistics provider will offer better international connections for the Finnish export industry, as well as optimized services throughout Europe to Finland.

“One competitive advantage is our excellent location. The new terminal, built in the Kerca logistics area, is strategically located close to the E75 motorway, Vuosaari harbor, the international airport, and the railway. Its close proximity to the Savio train station is convenient for commuters, making it easier for them to get to work and reducing the need for commuting by car,” Leimio adds.

Top-notch logistics terminal

Covering approximately 4,600 square meters, the new facility consists of a transit terminal (4,000 square meters) and offices (600 square meters). The entire property will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, as Logicenters, the leading supplier of logistics facilities in the Nordic countries, is committed to sustainable development. Solar roof panels and geothermal heat make the logistics center particularly energy-efficient. With the project, DACHSER Finland Oy is creating about 60 jobs in Kerava.
