DACHSER moves and expands in Poland
DACHSER launched a new warehouse in Sosnowiec and moved its former Sosnowiec branch to it. The new facility is 80% larger than the previous one, including over 8,000 square metres allotted for cross-docking and contract logistics.
Thanks to the investment DACHSER increased the surface of its branch by nearly 4,000 square metres. Nearly one third of the whole area is taken up by the cross-dock section, whereas half of the area is allotted for warehousing purposes. The office part amounts to 860 square metres. The newly built facility includes 34 loading ramps. Tthey are located opposite to one another, which enables faster reloading.

“The Sosnowiec branch of DACHSER is developing, the number of orders is growing. Therefore, the expansion of the infrastructure and the increase of our possibilities was a necessity due to our present and future needs”, says Paweł Parcz, Branch Manager European Logistics of DACHSER Sosnowiec.
A great advantage of DACHSER’s terminal in Sosnowiec is its location. The direct proximity of the A4 highway with the S1 road enables fast transport of the shipments. Thanks to the strategic location DACHSER can operate foreign orders even within 24 hours. There are 14 daily line connections from the company’s branch in Sosnowiec, thanks to which the groupage shipments reach all DACHSER branches in Europe, and then they are redistributed to their final recipients in given countries.

The Logistics Center in Sosnowiec is currently one of eight Polish branches of DACHSER. Other branches are located in Stryków, Poznań, Szczecin, Wrocław, Gdańsk and in two locations in Warsaw, one of which is DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics.
