DACHSER named number one in Europe for groupage
In the latest “Top 100 in Logistics in Europe” study, DACHSER once again takes the top spot in the European groupage transportation segment. And on the “special transports” market (including food logistics), the company rose from seventh to fourth place.
Every two years, the Fraunhofer IIS Center for Applied Research on Supply Chain Services SCS works with trade magazine DVZ and the German Logistics Association (BVL) to publish a ranking of the 100 European logistics companies with the highest revenue.
DACHSER has attained first place in freight logistics
In this year’s ranking, DACHSER has attained first place in freight logistics (LTL). This sees the logistics company overtake the previous European leader, DB Schenker, in terms of sales to regain the top spot it held once before in 2013-2014. Meanwhile, for special transports the category under which the Fraunhofer team includes food logistics—DACHSER climbed from seventh to fourth place.
According to the 2017/2018 study (based on revenue figures), the total European logistics market experienced growth of some two percent to around EUR 1,050 billion. This means the logistics industry grew just as strongly as the EU markets, where GDP growth last year was 1.9 percent.
The “Top 100” study is the most prestigious report presenting the market and competition in German and European logistics based on financial figures. It focuses on 9 sub-areas of the European logistics market. The latest 2017-2018 ranking is based on revenue figures for the year 2016.
