DACHSER opens new branch in Portugal
At the beginning of February, DACHSER moved into its new branch in Coimbra, Portugal. With this move, the logistics provider is tripling its logistics space in central Portugal to more than 6,300 square meters.
The new branch provides terminal handling space of 2,400 square meters, 3,040 square meters for warehousing, and 855 square meters of office space. DACHSER is also raising the number of loading bays from 21 to 29.
“With the expansion of the Portuguese branch, we are investing in quality and are strengthening our export transports in the European market,” says Juan Quintana, Managing Director European Logistics Iberia at DACHSER.
The full spectrum of logistics services
The new branch in Coimbra is part of a network of nine branches in Portugal. Two belong to DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics operations and the other seven handle overland transportation and logistics solutions for DACHSER European Logistics.
In Portugal, DACHSER offers its customers the full spectrum of logistics services—including specific solutions for the DIY and chemical sectors, warehousing, and special additional services. The investment in the new location underlines the importance of the Iberian Peninsula within DACHSER’s European network. In 2018, the logistics provider also invested in the Iberian market with locations in Spain—Logroño (La Rioja) and Zaragoza (Aragón)—increasing capacity to more than 28,000 square meters.
