Management change at Müller Fresh Food Logistics

Jan-Peter Müller, Managing Director of Müller Fresh Food Logistics, hands over the baton to Barry Stegeman

After more than 25 years at the helm of Müller Fresh Food Logistics, Jan-Peter Müller will hand over the reins to Barry Stegeman, currently Commercial Director at Müller Fresh Food Logistics, on January 1, 2025.

From January 1, 2025, Barry Stegeman will become Country Manager Food Logistics Netherlands. In this newly created position, he will report directly to Aat van der Meer, Managing Director of DACHSER in the Benelux, and Stefan Behrendt, Deputy Managing Director of DACHSER Food Logistics.

Since joining DACHSER, we have made great progress, such as our entry into the European Food Network. This provides us with unique opportunities to offer high quality distribution across Europe. I look forward to continuing this positive development.

Under the leadership of Jan-Peter Müller, Müller Fresh Food Logistics has developed into a leading and innovative company in the field of temperature-controlled food logistics over the past 25 years. His commitment, vision and leadership have shaped the company into what it is today: a reliable and progressive logistics partner.

Further development

In 2023, Müller Fresh Food Logistics became part of the logistics service provider DACHSER. Jan-Peter Müller plays a key role in the integration of Müller Fresh Food Logistics into DACHSER. This transition will take place gradually in order to make the cooperation between the two family businesses as successful as possible.

“For more than 25 years, I have proudly managed our family business, which was founded by my grandfather Anton Müller,” says Jan-Peter Müller. “Together with our employees and partners, we have built Müller into the solid company it is today, a leading player in the world of food logistics.” He looks back on a valuable career at Müller Fresh Food Logistics and is now confidently handing over the baton to Barry Stegeman. “With his extensive experience - including 23 years within Müller Fresh Food Logistcs - and his vision, I am sure that Barry Stegeman is the right person to continuously develop the company,” comments Müller.

Barry Stegeman has been Commercial Director at Müller Fresh Food Logistics since 2001 and has made a significant contribution to the company's growth and customer relationships. “I am grateful for the confidence of Jan-Peter and the team. Together we will continue to build a sustainable future for our customers and business partners,” says Barry Stegeman. He continues: “Since joining DACHSER, we have made great progress, such as our entry into the European Food Network. This provides us with unique opportunities to offer high quality distribution across Europe. I look forward to continuing this positive development.”

Müller Fresh Food Logistics and DACHSER would like to thank Jan-Peter Müller for his many years of commitment and look forward to a positive and successful future under the leadership of Barry Stegeman. A great new joint step for the two family businesses is thus approaching: the opening of the new warehouse and cross-dock location in Waddinxveen in the Netherlands in the third quarter of 2025.

"A good start, which motivates us a lot"

Since the beginning of April, DACHSER Food Logistics has been represented with a branch in Belgium. From Tournai, near the French border, it primarily serves the food industry in western Belgium. The focus of the offering is on export solutions for the internationally oriented Belgian food industry. Short update on the general situation in the transport sector

In the second half of the year, the corona pandemic is still the predominant topic in the media. While at the beginning of the pandemic new findings on Covid-19 were being announced almost daily and many updates were also published by DACHSER on loading restrictions in Europe as well as in America and APAC, something like a "new normality" has now returned.

At the moment, there are no longer any universal country or customer restrictions. We would therefore like to ask our customers to clarify individual restrictions such as closures, changed opening hours etc. with the recipients of the goods themselves. We are closely monitoring the further course of the corona pandemic and will keep you informed immediately of any developments. Should new loading restrictions be imposed, these will be published again via our website.

Peter Deutschbauer is new Managing Director DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics Eastern Europe and Austria

Peter Deutschbauer has been responsible for the air and sea freight business of DACHSER Austria and the Eastern Europe region since September 1, 2023. Under new leadership, the business unit is to be positioned for the future.
