The right place at the right time

Brakes, tools, clutches, shock absorbers, or cleaners and sponges: Norwegian company TTI turns to DACHSER for sourcing spare parts for heavy-duty commercial vehicles and trailers from all across Europe to Norway. In this relationship, what counts are short transit times, expertise in customs activities, and a constant willingness to listen to the customer.

For Truck and Trailer Industry TTI, a transport industry supplier with nearly 60 years of experience, customer orientation is particularly important in a highly competitive market. TTI has more than 50 suppliers located across several countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, the UK, and Spain. This makes it especially important for the company to be able to rely on its logistics partner. TTI has been working with DACHSER for over seven years, and benefits from the latter’s dense European network. This lets DACHSER ensure that all processes for importing spare parts from Europe to Norway run as smoothly as possible.

“It’s essential that our orders are delivered on time. This is important for saving time and money, which is necessary if we are to be a good partner for our customers,” says Martin Ohlsson, Head of procurement at TTI.

Many suppliers across Europe

TTI’s product range runs to more than 40,000 articles, from tiny screws to large engines. This means: transporting goods of such varying size and with different kinds of packaging is rather complex. The company also values speed and efficiency. “With daily departures from the different branches in our European network, coupled with our employees’ expertise in customs matters, we can handle the customer’s import process quickly and efficiently,” explains Anders Sundvold, Sales Executive at DACHSER Norway.

DACHSER is a reliable partner for the transport of dangerous goods as well, such as batteries. To this end, DACHSER has stationed dangerous goods safety advisors at all branches to ensure that the company complies with and implements standard guidelines. Those advisors receive support from a central team at DACHSER Head Office.

Tailor-made services for a successful collaboration

Besides importing spare parts from Europe, DACHSER supports TTI in its sales activities in Norway. DACHSER first reloads shipments in its Vinterbro branch before distributing them to Truck and Trailer departments throughout Norway. This bespoke service makes TTI’s logistics processes more efficient, as the company doesn’t need to spend any time itself on transshipping and distributing the shipments.

TTI also values the person-to-person collaboration with DACHSER employees. “For us, it’s important that everything works as it’s supposed to, and that the quality of the services is good,” Ohlsson says. “Whenever we have questions, we’re always greeted in a pleasant manner regardless of whom we’re speaking to, whether it’s our contact person or someone who works in customer service.” That’s why TTI just extended its collaboration with DACHSER. This way, everything always gets to the right place at the right time.
